Kiat Lim meets with Carlos Corberán and first-team captains at the Ciutat Esportiva
The new president of Valencia CF has held meetings with various departments at the Club’s offices
Hugo Guillamón has taken another step forward in his rapid progression this week, receiving a call-up from the Spain Under 21s side for their European Championships qualifying game against Macedonia. The contest takes place on September 3rd in Skopje.
"I'm very happy. It's the first time that I've been called up for the Under-21s, and I'm pleased that all of the hard work that I've put in over these past few months has got results," commented the defender on Thursday.
"I want to thank my teammates as well, because they've helped me from the first day I started training with them. Now I have to make the most of the opportunity."
Guillamón discovered that he had been chosen for the squad alongside some of his Valencia CF colleagues.
"I knew that the squad list was going to be released today. After training I was in the gym with some of my teammates and we were all listening together. They congratulated me, and I thanked them for that. It's also partly down to them.
"Valencia CF providing players for the national team is good for the club and for the players themselves. I hope that this continues."
Of course, the Spaniard is refusing to rest on his laurels with such a bright future ahead of him.
"All of my work over the past few months has brought results, but you have to continue learning and working -so that this is only the beginning. You have to aspire to more, and I hope that this is the first of many call-ups."
